General Information and Eligibility

The Rockford F.I.R.E. Girls' Basketball program is a competitive, Christ-centered program that relies on and requires parent involvement to help support the season.

We welcome both beginner and experienced athletes. Player placement is based on age/grade level, skill level, and coach evaluation. Newer players are encouraged to attend skills training if offered and summer camps to build a strong foundation.

All Athletes Must:

  • Be at least 51% homeschooled
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
  • Meet all Rockford F.I.R.E. and program eligibility requirements
  • Submit a current sports physical (valid for 395 days) before participating in practices

Athletes are eligible for four consecutive high school seasons beginning with their first season as a ninth grader. Students who turn 19 before August 1, have graduated, or are under disciplinary transfer restrictions are not eligible to participate.

Parents are responsible for ensuring their athlete meets all eligibility requirements. By registering, you acknowledge that you have reviewed these requirements and that your athlete is eligible. If an athlete is later found to be ineligible, they may be dismissed from the program.

New Families & Tryouts

New families must complete the Rockford F.I.R.E. New Family Application and participate in an interview before officially joining the program.

Tryouts may be held at the coaches' discretion and will be announced before practices begin.

The Rockford F.I.R.E. thrives because of family involvement. All families are expected to serve through volunteer opportunities and support the program by participating in fundraising efforts.
